For the kid who likes to move fast

Kids No Gi at AK49 Soldotna

Some kids do not sit still. They are the ones at recess running into the next scramble before the last one ended. They wrestle in the living room. They climb the furniture. They need an outlet that meets the way their body wants to work. Kids No Gi at AK49 is built for that kid. Without the gi to grab, the pace picks up and the techniques shift toward wrestling, body control, and scrambles. It is athletic, it is fast, and it teaches a kid to think on the move. If your kid wrestles in school season, this class is the off-season home that keeps them sharp.

Coaches teach the fundamentals carefully. Kids drill positions, learn how to escape bad spots, and build athleticism through movement that does not feel like exercise to them. Belts and stripes are earned by demonstrated skill. The room is positive but honest. Kids leave class tired and proud of something they figured out themselves. For a kid who has too much energy and not enough place to put it, this class is one of the better answers on the Peninsula. Stop by and watch a session with your kid before signing them up.

Kids No Gi Jiu Jitsu

Why Kids No Gi

No Gi gets kids moving in ways that translate to every other sport they might play. It builds athleticism, problem-solving, and the kind of resilience that comes from being put in tough spots and finding a way out. It also maps closest to wrestling, so it fits naturally for kids who do both.

Kids No Gi at AK49 Soldotna is built around how kids actually learn movement. Live drilling, partner work, and clear technique progressions. The kids who fit here best are the wrestlers, the climbers, the runners, the ones who need a physical outlet that engages a moving body and a working mind at the same time. Coaches keep the room safe and the standards honest. Parents from across the Kenai Peninsula bring kids here for an outlet that is physical, structured, and serious. Whether your kid already wrestles or has never grappled before, this class fits.

AK49 Martial Arts is a great place for a healthy workout and a real skill-learning environment. I was nervous when I first started, but the coaches and other kickboxers were quick to make me feel at home. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, which makes such a difference for any newbie. They are very professional and share wise, important life skills along the way. I highly recommend it to anyone, at any age or skill level, who wants to pursue martial arts in a healthy and professional manner.

Coaches are warm hearted and take the time to learn each of the students. Everything that's done is done with heart and pure value in raising a wonderful future of great leaders. The depth of the changes I've seen with the love and guidance with my own children shows up not only in class, but in school and at home. I've never been so impressed and thankful for a class that becomes a part of your life, as well as the wholesome parents you meet. Strongly encourage everyone to enroll. You won't regret it.

Wanted to drop in and train during the summer while away from my normal dojo. AK49 Martial Arts was extremely welcoming. Instructors are top notch and the dojo is clean and spacious. This is a place I'd be happy to train at year round. My daughters enjoyed the children's class as much as I enjoyed the adult class.

This gym is my home away from home. I spend many hours at the gym sharpening my mind and my martial arts. The staff is my martial arts family. Valeda at the desk is amazing and personable. Sensei Seth is a great black belt coach to look up to and has a lot of knowledge to give his students. They and the gym have helped me in many surprising ways along my journey. This is a great place to grow as a person as well as in your martial arts. The coaches are fun and patient. I'm happy I got the courage to walk in there four years ago.

Both my son and myself train here. The coaches are fantastic. They respect you regardless of your skill level, push you to challenge yourself, and take the time to explain the drills in great detail. They give you the tools to become a better version of yourself. We absolutely love training here.

Great place and awesome atmosphere. The coaches really care about the kids both inside the gym and outside of it. Lots of wonderful ideas and philosophy (hard work, being kind, self discipline) are imparted in each and every lesson.

My boys have been doing Jiu Jitsu here with Coach Jason for quite some time. He is very patient with the kids and a great teacher. My boys have learned a lot of skills, self confidence, and self discipline. Classes are fun and instructive, and they always look forward to attending. We couldn't be happier with this program.
